Queen size Log Cabin Quilt

I have been attempting to make quilts my grandmother would have made. This Log Cabin quilt was made with leftover fabric from many, many projects.

John's Quilt

John is a friend of a friend, but he had time to come to Galveston and help us tear out the inside of our house after Hurricane Ike left four feet of water inside. I made him a t-shirt quilt as a small thank you.

The Elvis Quilt

My friend asked me if I could make an Elvis quilt for her mother-in-law for Christmas. That question stopped me for a second! My response was yes, if Elvis fabric was available. Went to my favorite quilt and fabric stores. No Elvis fabric. Had to order the fabric from an Etsy shop (love Etsy, my shop name is Sam Baby Studio).

OK, so now I had the Elvis fabric, but what do I do with it. I decided on an Elvis sampler. Mixed in a few other fabrics and there you go!

Christmas Quilt

I have been busy. Completed a Wine and Grape quilt top and made a Christmas quilt. The Christmas quilt was made for a Christmas present and it featured Santas. The quilt was to place on the back of a couch, so the Santas needed to be visible regardless of the direction of the quilt.

The quilt has a Snta in each corner and the sides. Each Santa faces out. No matter how the qult is positioned on the couch, Santa will be visible. A couple pictures are attached.

Went to the quilt Asylum in McKinney on Saturday. That store is appropriately named, I was crazy trying to decide what i wanted and trying to restrain myself. Ended up purchasing labels and a min quiltws runner kit for Christmas. I'll post a picture when it is done.

Black, White and Red All Around

I have been sewing binding down and taking pictures for a couple days now. The picture today is the Black, White and Red All Around quilt. The backing is bright red!

This pattern looked like fun, so I made it.

My Father's Marriage Quilt

This is the only quilt top I have made by my grandmother. It was my father's marriage quilt. My grandmother made it sometime between 1926, when my father was born, and 1947, when my parents were married.

My grandmother gave my mother the quilt top in the mid seventies.

I received the quilt top in 2002 when my mother passed away. I quilted the top to honor both my mother and grandmother. Both are missed.

The top is made from very small pieces of fabric and is hand pieced.

Carolina Chain

I told you on June 19th the picutres of the Carolina Chain would be posted when it was finished. Well, it's done! Here are the picutres.

Now, I'm sewing on the binding to a Christmas Jars quilt and the Twelve Moons quilt is ready to be quilted.

The pictures of my grandmother's quilt, the only one I have will be posted soon. Photporaphy is not one of my talents!
