T-Shirt Quilt

One of my friends had me make a t-shirt quilt for her husband's birthday. The border has antique cars since he like to restore cars. His picture is on a t-shirt in the quilt.

Make A Wish Quilt

My son works for Maggiano's at Northpark. They support the Make a Wish Foundation and he asked me to make a quilt out of Make a Wish t-shirts for a fundraiser. They gave me a bag of t-shirts all the same. I had to think about it a while, then came up with the design in the picture. The border is a magician waving a wand and the blue fabric is stars.

Sam likes to help too

Baby likes the finished quilts. Sam likes to be involved in the entire process. He helped me quilt yesterday by laying on the qulting table. He stopped all progress waiting for attention. Isn't he cute?

Baby's Inspection

I recently completed a queen size (95 x 95 inches) Log Cabin quilt. I was proudly showing it off when Baby decided she had to inspect the quilt right then. She stepped on the quilt, pulled it out of my hands and looked it over.

In the meantime, how about another t-shirt quilt. Really love t-shirt quilts!

More quilts

The first quilt is made from T-shirts of a recent graduate of the University of Arizona.
I received a request for a picture of the BACK of the quilt made from baby quilts. The baby quilts show on the front and the back. The upper center of the quilt is the blanket she came home from the hospial in.

Gotta Love T-Shirt Quilts

Every time I make a t-shirt quilt, I am always amazed at the end result. The material is usually t-shirts that are worn out or too small, but the memories can't be used for cleaning rags or thrown away. I cut the t-shirts up, arrange them with some fabric and sew the pieces together. After it is qulted and bound, the t-shirts don't have to sit in a box or a dresser drawer!

The quilt in this picture belongs to my daughter, Becky. I used her graduation gown as the sashing and her Academic Decathelon shirts for border and blocks. Her sash is appliqued to a block. He first job is also in the quilt (can you guess where?).

Carolina Chain

I am making a Carolina Chain quilt. The pattern was in Quiltmaker magazine in the Addicted to Scraps column. So far, I like it! Sam sat in the window next to my work table to keep an an eye on me. You can't see Baby, but she was in her basket under the table.

My T-Shirt quilt

T-Shirt quilts are one of my favorite things to make. The quilt in the picture is mine. The t-shirts are from the 1970's until now. Of course, Sam & Baby helped me.

Feline supervision

Getting a good, clear picure of a quilt is always a challenge since I am NOT a photgrapher. Add Sam to the process and it becomes more complicated! He supervised the photography of a quilt I made using the baby quilts of a 5 year old, the picture attached is the result.

First Day on the Blog

woohoo, I'm in and blogging. I first had to move the cats away from my keyboard.
